In 2020, 287,000 women died from pregnancy-related causes or complications after giving birth. If given prompt care by a qualified provider, the majority of these fatalities could have been avoided. Addressing inequalities and ensuring all women have access to respectful and high-quality maternity care requires robust geospatial data at high spatial and temporal resolutions.
